That is so dramatic. I know. However-I have a unique perspective as her mother, where I get to see the beautiful details. I feel confident that this cute, little, redhead youth will have a lasting impact on all of us.
SO-I intend to chronicle the special time in Madison’s life.
Yet another blessing that has come about because these sad circumstances…
God uses ALL things for good. He does. For those who love Him. I’m proof.
We were in NC for Dan’s funeral. The following Sunday we went to Antioch (our first church as a family). A young man, not even 16 years old, notices gorgeous Madison. (It’s a freaking miracle that boys have not been obsessed with her up to this point) Boy-asks her for her number. She eagerly gives. And that was it.
Seriously.
So this young man happens to be the son of our first Pastor. When we started attending his church, madison and he were probably not even three years old. I vividly remember him climbing all over things in the nursery. I remember being nervous as a nursery worker in this new church-not to break the Pastor’s kid. I also remember Madison and him swinging on the swing set at the church. His mother was so gracious to let them have a play date that day.
The pastor’s son thing isn’t really the focus here. The reason I mention it is because it was super relevant to our lives during the time we were in NC. In like, a huge, dramatic way. Matt and I first began following the Lord-TOGETHER, at this particular church-under this particular pastor. So-it matters.
So, up until now, my VERY romantic-visioned Madison, has not had a boyfriend or any boy seriously interested in her (in that way). And believe me, I’ve been grateful. I’ve explained to her that God had a guard around her protecting her until the right person comes. It’s true-no doubt. Just like Moriah (one day I will be posting a story for moriah just like this!).
So, this kid is the real deal. He loves the Lord. Who the crap lovea the Lord at 15!? This is sooooo crazy because it’s probably so uncommon. That is really all I need to say. Like, ever. Because, it’s all that matters.
I’m soooooooo excited to walk with her through this and get to see what God has in store. For now-I’m grateful and very excited. But, not as excited as she is, probably.
These pictures are day 5. I want to capture her pure elation at what is going on. (If you couldn’t tell-she’s on the phone with him). Yesterday we took her to NC to spend an hour with him and watch Carter’s softball game. This is just one week after Dan’s death. I had to pick Matt up so I thought, hmmmm-we can arrange something for sure. Yes! It was MY idea! You’re welcome, Madison. You’d better give me credit at some point.
more to come…I am sure.
BTW-why is water so appealing? Because it offers a reflection of what God had made! It’s true!
