Proud Mama

I am in awe of God's love for me and for my children.  Two nights ago, Madison told us she was ready to ask Jesus to forgive her sins and for the Holy Spirit to live inside of her.  This was a choice she wrestled with for days.  She was distressed and distraught about giving up control.  She tearfully reasoned why she wanted to but just couldn't.  The amazing thing to me was that she was able to articulate it to us so we understood where she was coming from and what she was dealing with.  Matt and I prayed for her.  We knew there was a war going on for her soul.  Then she was ready.

No matter what happens to me, you know your mother's heart chases after Jesus Christ Himself. It is not the path of least resistance. On the contrary. I live my life for Him and through Him because I have already experienced the contrary. It was a state of darkness and death. Absence of light and of love. Of course I want to spare you the suffering of that course but sometimes we must walk through that mire to appreciate Him as he washes it off of us s...
