Madison and Pink

Madison said to me this morning, "I wanna buy a pink mermaid, and a red mermaid for Ridah (moriah)!" I assured her we would look. Then she said, "I wanna pink TRUCK! I wanna ride in it..Drew ride too. Drew fall, he fall out, Truck too big.." (at least she is thinking about her brother)

Think she likes pink? We have this ball popping machine, it has a bunch of variously colored plastic balls that go into it and when you push the button it plays loud music and air forces the balls to pop out. As soon as they turn it on, Madison confiscates all the pink balls as they pop out. "MY pink balls..." and is more concerned about guarding her pink ones than playing with the toy after that. When she colors, she hogs the pink marker and pink crayons. When she is pretending about something, she always says she gets the pink *whatevertheobjectis* and Drew gets the Blue one.

Right now actually, she is coloring with the pink marker!

If it's in Jesus then you are perfect because He is perfect. He atoned for all of our real imperfections. If sin leads to death, why do we chase it? Why do we chase the grave instead of His grace? Me too, it's a daily surrender of my desire for the world. Daily, hourly, minutely. The pull is intense and the struggle is real. Literally. No matter what happens to me, you know your mother's heart chases after Jesus Christ Himself. It is not the path of least resistance. On the contrary. I live my life for Him and through Him because I have already experienced the contrary. It was a state of darkness and death. Absence of light and of love. Of course I want to spare you the suffering of that course but sometimes we must walk through that mire to appreciate Him as he washes it off of us s...
