I was holding Madison close this morning and just trying to obsorb her still-baby scent. I closed my eyes and thought, I love this life. I am so fortunate to be here with her right now. I could be stuck behind a desk somewhere while someone else is looking after her. Even when she is fussy for hours and I am frustrated, I am still thankful to be able to scoop her up whenever I want. I thought to myself, "we have almost been together for 2 years now..." What a connection to share with her. Oh how I love this little thing. She has brought such light and sweetness to our lives. I am thankful to be able to sit back and enjoy it.
Madison is walking all over now, getting more steady every day. It's fun to watch her develop.
I saw little Matthew yesterday, as you can see too by my posted pictures. It was an amazing thing to have a glimpse inside to see him. It was awesome...the only ultrasound Matt has missed of course is the most revealing one so far. I have to have another one in a few weeks, maybe he can catch that one. He sounded so sad when I told him about it. I know he hates having to miss these things.
My Doc has been insisting I have gestational diabetes. I just really felt that my sugars were close enough to normal to be able to avoid any meds. The stuff they put me on did more damage than good. I was feeling aweful on it and when I reported how I was feeling, they just threatened insulin. So, I kept my mouth shut and quit complaining. Then, I had to miss a dose one night and wouldn't you know, my sugar has been in a normal range ever since. Without medication. When I explained this to the NP, she seemed so hesitant to accept this. She seemed confused and just generally resistant to the idea that I may not need this medication. I am not sure why they pushed it so hard. I just don't get it.
Poor Matt seems to be working around the clock. Even when he is off, he is working. I hate that he has to do it this way, but you know I think he likes it. :) Not on 3 hours sleep though.
