After Matt left for work, I was kind of bored so I decided today was a good day to check out the day care center I had reserved a spot in. Let me just say, we have since vowed to make other arrangements. When I walked in, all I saw was grody, grody everywhere. The infant room had cribs in rows like the orphanages you see on tv, with the babies left in them, there were only two there, but still. I just can't. I won't. I was horrified when I envisioned my precious, perfect new baby left alone in one of those nas-T cribs. This particular center was the ONLY place that had availability...next to the place that we had reserved and was recently "closed". :/
We live in a VERY small town, or on the outskirts of and there just aren't a lot of options. We moved from NoVA, so this is quite a change. I would have probably 1000 centers to choose from in VA, however here there were like 2. Seriously. Ideally, I could stay home with her. Second best scenario would be to have mary poppins come to our home to care for her 3 days a week for the same amount we would pay a center. That is what I am going to shoot for, not mary poppins though, she probably doesn't need the money anymore after the movie and all.
I am putting an ad in our local paper. I adore her SO MUCH, let me assure you the screening process for anyone who dares respond will be R-I-G-I-D, not excluding a credit check and a background check and any other check we can perform.
on a brighter note...
Moriah and I dared to take maddy to a movie tonight, not just any movie either...Pride and prejudice (a looonnngg movie). The baby was on her best behavior! Actually, I fed her really well and the car ride may have had something to do with the comatose state that she remained in for 3 hours that followed. I was SO happy to see that it wasn't the most popular movie, so she wouldn't have disturbed THAT many people had she let out a wail before I could get her out into the hall. But she didn't. Yay.
p.s. the movie was excellent. I had read the book and seen the tv movie version many times, and this one was Great with a capital "G"!
Wish us luck with our search...

You hang in there and don't stop until you find exactly the right solution. (Even if she sings and has an umbrella)
